President’ Message – August 2022

President’ Message – August 2022

Welcome all to a new PASSA COPAS year 2022 – 2023.  It seems our last May’s meeting was just yesterday.  We will begin our new COPAS year registration on Monday, August 8, 2022.  Our registration fee has increased to $135/person.  That should cover the cost of each member’s lunch for the year.  We are looking forward to having more great luncheon speakers as well as two committee meeting speakers.  Our first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Please login to the website to see the remaining four meeting dates.  www.copassa.net

We are still moving forward on planning the 2024 Fall COPAS Conference to be held in downtown San Antonio around October 21 – 25, 2024.  PASSA will be partnering with the Austin Society to help plan the conference.  We are looking for volunteers for the planning committee.  We probably need about 10 folks to serve on the committee.  Planning the conference should not take a lot of the volunteer’s time.  However, the planning committee will be busy two weeks before the conference and the week of the conference.  We will have a good time.

Remember, if anyone has questions about COPAS or how to account for an oil and gas transaction, don’t hesitate to email me kforeman6@hotmail.com.  I’m sure I won’t be able to answer all accounting questions, but I know plenty of COPAS folks who can.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone in September.

My January 2022 President’s message stated that I thought the “insanity was over”.  Well, as of May 4, 2022, the pandemic insanity is over.  Good riddance!  Hopefully we won’t have to deal with another pandemic for another 100 years. Today I think it is...

JAN 2022 President’s Message

The question I submitted in last July 2021 President’s Message was “Is the insanity over?” My answer to that today is “I think so.”  The question I ask now is “Where are we headed in 2022?” My crystal ball says, “the Oil and Gas Industry is on the rise...

Is the insanity over?  That is the question I keep asking myself.  This last year and a half has been unprecedented. In April 2020 oil prices and stock prices hit record lows.  The impact of that was companies going bankrupt and folks losing their...
